Our Impact

They Served Us, Now its Our Turn to Serve Them.

We Are Serving in Three States

Today the WV Foundation is located in three states, with plans to expand into a fourth. Each property is in pristine condition. The houses are equipped with high speed cable and internet, state of the art televisions, and modern appliances. WVF takes pride in creating comfortable and beautiful homes and arranges cleaning services for tenants once a month. We prioritize creating enjoyable living environments by choosing renovation materials for their durability as well as their aesthetic.

Veterans who live in WVF housing are able to Stay for as long or as little as they choose. They participate in community covenants and abide by agreed upon house rules. If disagreements arise, WVF provides conflict mediation services grounded in restorative justice principles.

Bronx, NY

WVF’s first property is located in the Bronx, NY . This housing unit is a three story building with eleven bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each floor boasts a communal living room, kitchen, and dining space. It is currently at full capacity, with eleven residents.

Waterbury, CT

WVF has two residence buildings in Waterbury, CT . Both buildings are three stories and each story contains three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a communal living room, dining room, & kitchen. The property also includes a separate building with a communal laundromat, vending machines, and office space for VA agents.

Dayton, OH

WVF’s final property is located in Dayton, OH . The Foundation is currently converting the housing space into an apartment complex, which will be completed in May 2021. It is projected to begin admitting residents in September 2021.

SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS

WVF is proud to provide stable housing to homeless veterans. But our work goes beyond the signing of a lease. Homelessness leaves people feeling vulnerable and is especially hard on veterans who are dealing with underlying health or addiction issues. WVF effectuates change by discovering and fixing the root of a problem so that veterans are able to regain the strength they once knew and the dignity they deserve.

There is no difficulty we are not willing to tackle together with our vets and there is no limit set on the assistance we provide. Our year-round aid includes the following services, among others:

Our Programs

Housing Services

We believe that stable housing is the first step toward successful reintegration. Our housing program provides safe, affordable, and supportive living environments for homeless veterans and their families.

Mental Health & Wellness

Mental health is a critical component of overall well-being. Our mental health services include counseling, therapy, and support groups designed to address issues such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

Addiction Recovery

Substance abuse is a significant barrier to successful reintegration. We offer comprehensive addiction recovery programs that include detoxification, counseling, and long-term support.

Job Training & Employment Services

Gainful employment is essential for independence and self-sufficiency. Our job training and employment services provide veterans with the skills, resources, and opportunities they need to secure and maintain meaningful employment.

Community Building

A supportive community can make all the difference. We foster a nurturing environment through social activities, peer support groups, and family engagement initiatives that help veterans and their families build strong, supportive networks.
